Why promote your practice on the Internet?

Unlike other forms of marketing, Internet marketing allows businesses to target their audience very specifically. By having your own directory listing, web page or advert on a complementary therapy website such as Massage Therapy UK you can be quite confident that each visitor constitutes a "pre-qualified" consumer.

In other words, with hundreds of thousands of other possible web destinations, it is very unlikely that consumers will visit the Massage Therapy UK website unless they are actually interested in the massage and complementary therapies on offer.

It is this level of targeting that is attractive to complementary therapy practitioners registering on the Massage Therapy UK website. It is very difficult to achieve these levels of targeting with other forms of advertising with the breadth of audience, and at little cost.

Internet Use - The Official Line

According to research done by the Office of National Statistics (www.statistics.gov.uk), over the period July to September 2001 an estimated 9.7 million households in the UK could access the Internet from home. That amounts to almost four in 10 (39%) of all UK households.

Over half (53%) of adults in Great Britain have accessed the Internet at some time. Nearly three-quarters (74%) of these adults used it to find information about goods or services.

The Government promises that everybody in the UK will have access to the Internet by 2005.

Many people have yet to tap into the Internet's huge potential. The evolution of the Internet and the introduction of new technology will transform the way people think of the Internet. It will become more embedded into people's lives becoming the prime source of information and entertainment.
